Forward, Together: Investing in FRCC’s Next Chapter
Front Range Community College has named Blair Lee, MPA, as its inaugural Associate Vice President and Chief Marketing & Communications Officer, a newly created leadership role designed to strengthen how FRCC connects with students and communities, supports enrollment, and communicates the college’s impact across Colorado.
The appointment comes as FRCC advances Forward, Together, its 2025–2030 strategic plan, and strengthens the institutional capacity needed to support student success, deepen community and industry partnerships, and position the college for its next chapter.
“Establishing this role is a deliberate investment in FRCC’s future,” said FRCC President Colleen Simpson, EdD. “How we tell our college story shapes who enrolls, who partners with us and how our communities understand the value we deliver. Blair brings the higher education experience and strategic perspective to help us build on our strong foundation, strengthen our connection with students and communities, and elevate FRCC’s impact across Colorado.”
Lee will provide enterprise-wide leadership for FRCC’s brand and institutional positioning, strategic communications, enrollment marketing, digital engagement, media relations and communications alignment across the college.
Lee joins FRCC from Colorado State University, where he advised the President’s Office and other senior leaders on integrated marketing and communications, brand strategy, organizational initiatives and digital transformation. Previously, he served on the President’s Cabinet at the Community College of Aurora as its inaugural Executive Director of Strategic Communications and Alumni Engagement, where he led a brand transformation, launched a multilingual website and supported enrollment, retention and community engagement strategies.
“Returning to the Colorado Community College System is especially meaningful to me because the mission remains so important—expanding opportunity and changing lives through higher education,” Lee said. “FRCC has a strong foundation, a talented team and an ambitious vision for the future. I look forward to working alongside colleagues across the college to strengthen how we connect with students and communities and tell the story of FRCC’s impact.”
A 2025 Denver Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree and 2026 Colorado Men of Color Collaborative Higher Education Impact Award recipient, Lee earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Baltimore and is completing his PhD in Journalism and Media Communication at Colorado State University.
