FRCC has introduced the college’s new AI Chatbot—”Ask Apollo”—on the college website. Anyone can now start a chat by clicking on the yellow icon in the bottom right-hand corner on any page of the frontrange.edu website.

In alignment with FRCC’s strategic priorities of success for every learner and college excellence, the chatbot expands the college’s ability to support students by providing:

  • 24/7 access to answers for common questions related to admissions, financial aid, advising, registration and more
  • Immediate support without wait times
  • Seamless escalation to a live member of FRCC’s student support team when  human assistance is needed, ensuring that personalized, real-time support remains available
  • Support for questions and answers in many languages, including Spanish, in alignment with FRCC’s status as an Emerging Hispanic-Serving Institution

Since the chatbot went live in December, the college is already seeing excellent results from the testing and soft-launch period that highlight the chatbot’s early value.

What Early Data Show

Only two months of usage has resulted in:

  • Nearly 700 chatbot conversations have been successfully managed and closed.
  • Approximately 98% of those conversations were resolved by the bot without human intervention. Only 13 were passed on to a human for more details.
  • This saved an estimated 106 hours of staff time, allowing teams to focus on higher-touch, more complex student needs.
  • More than 95% positive feedback across chatbot messages.
