Elena Sandoval-Lucero is the new vice president of the Boulder County Campus.

She joins Front Range Community College from the Community College of Aurora, where she was vice president of student affairs. She succeeds Linda Curran, who retired after eight years as campus vice president.
As vice president, Sandoval-Lucero is the chief executive officer of the Boulder County Campus.
“It is clear that Elena truly has a passion for education and for community colleges and is committed to student success and building inclusive excellence,” said FRCC President Andy Dorsey. “I am delighted that she is bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the Boulder County Campus.”
Sandoval-Lucero has more than 25 years of experience in academic and student affairs settings in community colleges and four-year universities. Before joining Community College of Aurora, she was an assistant research professor and director of a center at the University of Colorado-Denver (CU-Denver) that focused on the employment, training, and career development of teacher aides. She also worked as director of admissions and outreach at Metropolitan State University of Denver.
As a volunteer, she has been a board member of the Downtown Aurora Visual Arts Program, a member of Colorado’s Homeless and Unaccompanied Youth Task Force, and a member of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science Community Collaboration and Co-Visioning Team.
Sandoval-Lucero earned a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado, a master’s in administration, supervision and curriculum development from the CU-Denver, a master’s in psychology from American Public University, and a doctorate in educational leadership and innovation from CU-Denver.
