Darrick Hildman, who teaches Communications courses, is the Adjunct Instructor of the Year at Front Range Community College. He was honored at a meeting of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education.
Darrick Hildman
Hildman has been teaching Communication courses – public speaking and interpersonal communication – at the Larimer Campus for five years. But he also has shown his versatility – and interests – by teaching Dance. His interests in what he calls “social dancing” – swing and salsa – dates to his time as a student at Colorado State University.
Another example of his versatility: This semester he is teaching Humanities 116 Innovation and Design Thinking.
Hildman “always engages the class,” one of his nominees wrote. “He cares about all his students and understands the stresses in their lives. He encourages his classes to see each other as a team.”
Hildman has a bachelor’s in communication studies from CSU and a master’s in education, also from CSU.
