Jacobson will oversee two academic divisions and the college’s Law Enforcement Academy.
Front Range Community College has selected Anne Marie Jacobson as a new dean of instruction at the school’s Larimer Campus in Fort Collins. She will oversee the school’s programs in: social sciences, education & public service; liberal arts, communication & design; and the FRCC Law Enforcement Academy.
“Anne Marie’s academic and professional experiences make her an ideal candidate to lead our college’s outstanding faculty,” said campus Vice President Jean Runyon. “Her focus on student success and commitment to our community partners is unparalleled.”

Jacobson’s Background & Experience
Jacobson has been on the early childhood and elementary education faculty at FRCC since 2012. She served as chair of the department from 2017 to 2021.
Working with community partners is a central focus for Jacobson. She served on the steering committee for construction of FRCC’s new $34.4 million Health Care Careers Center, which opened on the Larimer Campus in summer 2020. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Early Childhood Council of Larimer County.
Jacobson is well recognized for her experience with active learning techniques, as well as effective practices for assessing educational outcomes. Her expertise spans a variety of course delivery methods—including online, hybrid and face-to-face instruction.
Jacobson’s work has been recognized with the following awards:
- Moving Mountains award (from the Larimer Campus Vice President)—2020
- Becky Zerlentes Memorial Master Teacher award—2016
- Online Master Teacher award—2016
- Early Childhood Education Partner School award (from the University of Northern Colorado)—2015
Jacobson holds a master’s degree in early childhood education from Northern Arizona University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She is currently a doctoral student at Colorado State University in education and human resources studies (with a specialization in higher education leadership).
