Dan McGillicuddy is the Classified Staffer of the Year at Front Range Community College.
McGillicuddy, who has been at FRCC for 6½ years, is an IT Technician II at the Westminster Campus. He works desktop support, deploys new computers, and images existing computers as semesters change. He also is responsible for Macintosh computers in Digital Media and a soon-to-come-online Mac classroom for Music.
McGillicuddy, who lives in Westminster, has a bachelor’s degree in computer science and worked previously in the finance and aerospace industries.
“I like the technical aspects of problem solving and detective work,” McGillicuddy said, “and it’s a great feeling working through a problem and helping people.”
One of the people McGillicuddy helped said, “He knows that when we run into a problem it can cause a class to come to a standstill. His ability to troubleshoot is phenomenal.”
McGillicuddy received his award this month at a meeting of the State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education.
