Eclectic 10-minute plays touch on a wide range of subject matter—from transgender identity to mortality.
Students in FRCC’s theatre program will perform the first-ever productions of six new 10-minute plays—written by students from the college’s playwriting classes. Come be one of the first audiences to watch these dynamic, creative new plays.
“This is an incredible evening of thought-provoking entertainment,” says theatre instructor Dana Formby. “These are plays I’m sure you’ll see more of. One of them, in particular, has real ‘legs,’ meaning other theatres will produce it.
“This brilliant play is about a transgender man haunted by his past. The female identity he tried to be when he was young—to appease his family (and society)—is a ghost that haunts him. It is spectacular.”
This eclectic collection of 10-minute plays—written in the spring 2022 playwriting class at FRCC—features the work of six student playwrights from the college’s campuses in Longmont, Westminster and Fort Collins. “FRCC’s theatre department is honored to produce these works,” adds Formby.
Join us as we reclaim the Performing Arts Studio stage at FRCC’s Larimer Campus for these new works written and performed by FRCC students, and directed by FRCC theatre instructor Dana Formby.
