College earns “badge of honor” with top 10 national ranking.
Front Range Community College has once again earned national distinction as a Military Friendly® School, ranked No. 7 in the country among large community colleges, according to Military Friendly, a ratings organization that has been the benchmark for evaluating employer and school support of the military community since 2003.
That impact is further reinforced by a No. 4 national ranking for being Military Spouse Friendly®, demonstrating the college’s leadership in addressing the unique needs of military families—and placing FRCC among the top-performing community colleges serving military-connected students nationwide. More than 3,200 organizations compete annually for this designation.
Consistent Excellence
This is the eighth year that FRCC has earned the Military Friendly® School designation. This recognition reflects the college’s measurable and sustained impact in creating clear, supportive pathways for veterans, service members and their families to succeed in higher education and beyond. It also honors FRCC’s “commitment, effort and success in creating sustainable and meaningful benefits for the military community”—including active duty, National Guard, veterans and military spouses.

These honors are grounded in rigorous evaluation, combining public data with detailed institutional reporting and guidance from an independent advisory council of veteran education experts. FRCC’s performance stands out across every category that drives student success:
- academic policies and compliance
- admissions and orientation
- culture and commitment
- financial aid and assistance
- graduation and career services
- military student support and retention
FRCC exceeds the standards set by Military Friendly® in the above categories. The result is a model of sustained, institution-wide commitment to those who have served: one that not only welcomes military-connected students, but equips them with the tools, support and opportunities to achieve their goals and transition successfully into civilian careers.
How FRCC Supports Our Vets
“FRCC Veterans Services provides numerous specialized services and support to veterans, eligible dependents, active-duty service members, National Guard and members of the Selected Reserve, tailored to meet students’ experience and challenges,” Military Friendly® reports.
“Each campus has a dedicated Veteran Success Coach to assist veterans with their transition to college, both academically and socially, along with a dedicated School Certifying Official (SCO) to ensure that veterans benefits are properly awarded in a timely manner.”
FRCC President Colleen Simpson, EdD, commends the college’s Military & Veteran Services staff—and all faculty and employees—for their and deeply rooted dedication to supporting military veterans and spouses. “We are committed to helping more veterans and active-duty military secure rewarding careers and position themselves for successful futures,” Simpson said. “FRCC is dedicated to upholding the high standards that Military Friendly® measures.”
Military Friendly® is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business.
