Join us to meet the college’s new Program Director Dr. Cord Brundage.

Front Range Community College is hosting an open house to give the public tours and information about FRCC’s veterinary programs—and to meet their newly hired director. A fourth generation Coloradan, Cord Brundage, MS, PhD, DVM, started his college career at FRCC and went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Colorado State University. He is the college’s first full-time veterinarian to serve as director of veterinary programs.

Open House

The open house will give interested community members the opportunity to tour the top-notch veterinary facilities on the college’s Larimer campus and talk with FRCC’s instructors. The veterinary technology team will offer demonstrations and activities to learn more about their programs, as well as a chance to speak with current students about their experience.

More About Dr. Brundage

“Dr. Brundage is an exceptional hire by the college,” says Angie Peach, Dean of Health Sciences & Wellness at FRCC. “He brings innovative leadership to our veterinary programs while upholding FRCC’s tradition of excellence in education. His vision will prepare the next generation of veterinary technicians and assistants to meet evolving industry needs.”

In addition to being a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Brundage has a PhD in biology (neurophysiology) and is a published author—he has written a book, 24 research papers and more than 200 scientific abstracts in veterinary, biomedicine and teaching. He has also been the recipient of more than $1 million in individual and team grants and fellowship awards.

Dr. Brundage was the program coordinator for the undergraduate and graduate animal and veterinary science program at Cal Poly Pomona and has served as the national advisor for the American Pre-Veterinary Medical Association for the past 6 years.

Along with his doctorate in veterinary medicine from CSU, Dr. Brundage also holds a MS and PhD in biology and wildlife (neurophysiology) from the University of Alaska, he is certified in rehabilitation and medical acupuncture, and he is currently completing an EdD in Student Affairs Administration.

Prior to joining FRCC, he was an assistant professor and university veterinarian at the University of Wisconsin, a practicing veterinarian, local veterinary association president and tenured associate professor in animal and veterinary science at Cal Poly Pomona where he was recognized as both advisor and teacher of the year in his college.

A New Position

The director of veterinary programs is a newly redesigned year-round position at FRCC developed to give additional dedicated support to the college’s two nationally accredited offerings:

  • Associate of Applied Science degree in Veterinary Technology
  • Certificate in Veterinary Assisting

One of the few medical doctors working full-time at the college, Dr. Brundage is the only full-time veterinarian at FRCC. In his new role, he will oversee both of the college’s vet programs—and he will interface with the veterinary offices and clinics across the state where our students complete their internships.
