Front Range is one of just two community colleges in Colorado to make the top schools list.

Front Range Community College has been recognized as one of America’s Best Online Learning Colleges (2023), according to a new list compiled by Newsweek and database company Statista. FRCC is among the top 30 community colleges from around the country to make the list—and one of just four schools in Colorado.

“FRCC tailors our online classes to meet the specific needs of remote students,” said Vice President of Academic Affairs and Online Learning Rebecca Woulfe. “And we’re one of the few community colleges that have dedicated online advisors and support staff specifically designated to work with our online students.”

More than 11,000 FRCC students—more than 40 percent of the student body—take at least one online class in an average year. The COVID-19 pandemic has increased that number—but online learning is nothing new to the college. FRCC has been focused on offering excellent online learning experiences for more than 25 years.

“We’ve been teaching online since 1995, and have been continually investing in improving our courses,” said FRCC President Colleen Simpson. “All FRCC faculty receive significant training on how to make their teaching most effective for the online learning environment.”

About FRCC Online Learning

FRCC currently offers more than 500 online courses in an average semester. The college also has 46 programs—including 28 degrees and 18 certificates—that can be completed completely online.

Online students at FRCC get access to the same services as students who take classes on campus. All without the commute—and on a flexible schedule that works for our students’ busy lives.

About Newsweek’s Ranking

Newsweek based its new ranking on its own research about the institutions, as well as an online survey among US residents who have used online learning services to obtain an academic degree or acquire knowledge and skills for their job (professional development) or hobbies (personal development).
