MLK Day-Jan 15

On Aug. 28, 1963, Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered a speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial that lives in history. It merits returning to it every year. I read it on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. There are plenty of sites on the internet where you can find the text of this speech and audio of its delivery. We’ve included a video of the famous speech below.

Looking for activities marking the day in Denver metro? There’s a Statewide Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Colorado Holiday Commission. Its website has a route map for the annual Marade and mentions of other activities.

The city of Boulder has seven scheduled events.

The city of Longmont has three scheduled events.

In Fort Collins, FRCC joins Colorado State University’s lead for many activities, including a march at 11 a.m. Jan. 15 from Old Town Square.
