The Front Range Family Theatre Project has another delightful “OZ” show on the Larimer Campus Plaza this week. Enjoy these photos as a small taste of “The Royal Wedding of OZ.”

“The Royal Wedding of OZ” is based on the stories of L. Frank Baum, who wrote “The Wizard of OZ.” This performance is the fourth in an “OZ” series.

This year’s play “explores the power of true love and loyalty, as well as what can happen when you put all your straw in one basket,” John Hill writes in the program. John is the founder of the Front Range Family Theater Project and theater professor at Front Range.

At the performance I watched, I could tell the children in the audience were really engaged in the story.

And one thing I note from the program is that many of the actors have appeared in previous “OZ” plays. They are current Front Range students as well as former Front Range students who have transferred to Colorado State University. To me, this is an indication that the Theater field of study at Front Range is going strong.

As this is posted, faithful readers have an opportunity to catch “The Royal Wedding of OZ” at 2 p.m. July 14, 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. July 15 and at 10:30 a.m. July 16. The July 16 performance starts with a costume parade, so come dressed as your favorite OZ character.
