Scholarship season is here! If you are planning to attend school in the 2014-2015 Academic Year, now is the time to start thinking about scholarships. Replace that feeling of anxiety with excitement by using the helpful resources available to you right here at Front Range Community College. Go to our Financial Aid Scholarships website at www.frontrange.edu/scholarships to find a list of current opportunities, including more information on each of these scholarships:

1. Griffin Foundation

If you are planning to transfer to Colorado State University, University of Northern Colorado or the University of Wyoming, then this scholarship is for you! You need to have an Associates Degree or 60 credit hours completed before you transfer, and at least a 3.5 GPA.

2. ASIST

If you are a non-traditional student who is past high school age the ASIST scholarship can help you along your way to graduation. You must demonstrate financial need, have physical or social challenges, and be taking care of small children.

3. Helen M. McLoraine

The Helen M. McLoraine scholarship has multiple opportunities for students in Colorado. If you were in the Colorado foster care system as a minor between the ages of 13-18 there is an opportunity for you. Also, nonprofit employees working in select Denver Human Services agencies can find scholarships as well.

4. Scholarship Experts

Scholarship Experts holds monthly essay writing contests on a variety of topics, from serious to funny. You only have to be at least 13 years of age and enrolled, or plan to enroll, in an accredited post-secondary institution no later than Fall of 2019.

Check with your school

Whether you are in high school, or college, be sure to ask about opportunities that are currently open for students in your area. Your high school counselor or a Financial Aid representative can help you find the best resources to apply.
