Florida State University Art Professor to Speak at FRCC Campus in Longmont

Holly Hanessian, professor of art and director of the graduate and ceramics program at Florida State University, will discuss her work at noon Monday, Oct. 22, at Front Range Community College as part of the Visiting Artist Series.

BCC Artist Series October-click for larger imageThe series, presented by the Art Department at the FRCC-Boulder County Campus, focuses on art, influences, and inspirations of nationally recognized artists.

The presentation will be in the Community Room of the Classroom Building, 2121 Miller Drive, Longmont.

Hanessian’s work explores the crossroads of our DNA and the environment influencing our daily experience. Her artwork is a hybrid of design, craft, and contemporary art, in various media, including installations and artist’s books.

Admission is free. Seating is limited, with FRCC students receiving priority.

Other artists scheduled in the series are medal artist James Malone Beach (Feb. 6, 2013) and sculptor Tayo Heuser (April 18, 2013).
