Community College Campus Opens Observatory for Stargazing Dec. 15
The Front Range Community College campus in Longmont will have a public stargazing from 8 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Boulder County Campus observatory.
Amateur astronomers are invited to bring their own telescopes to set up in the courtyard.
In addition to the 14-inch Celestron telescope mounted in the observatory dome, the Boulder County Campus has a radio telescope that will be operational during the event. Because radio telescopes can operate even under cloudy skies, there will be a demonstration to view no matter the sky cover.
