Jazz guitarist to perform Sept. 9 as part of Boulder County Campus Music Series

Jazz guitarist David Wiatrolik will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at the Brewing Market, Longmont, as part of the Front Range Community College-Boulder County Campus Music Series.

Wiatrolik, who plays a seven-string jazz guitar, draws inspiration from the past century of American music, including the works of Eddy Lang, Carl Kress, George Van Eps, Bucky Pizzarelli, and Joe Pass. He performs songs from the American Song Book as well as original compositions.

Admission is free. The Brewing Market is located at 1520 S. Hover Road, Longmont.

Wiatrolik performed for more than a decade before receiving a Master’s in Jazz Performance from Southern Illinois University in 2011. Studying under St. Louis jazz legends Reggie Thomas and Rick Haydon, Wiatrolik has developed a strong foundation in traditional swing and blues music. His performances showcase a deep appreciation and study of American music, while risk taking and exciting improvisation are central to his playing.

After relocating to Fort Collins to teach music at Front Range Community College-Larimer Campus, Wiatrolik opened Fa-So-La Recording and Graphics with partner, Kristen Bartel. He offers his services as a musician, engineer, producer, and educator.
